  • Student workers can earn free registration and lunch for the meeting if they work a shift at the registration table. Students might be asked to work as early as 7:30 am on the day of the meeting. You will be contacted before the meeting about your time slot.

The Pennsylvania Geographical Society and our colleagues at Mount Aloysius College extend a warm welcome to their campus in Cresson, Pennsylvania for the 2025 Annual Meeting on Friday, 7 November 2025

REGISTRATION OPENS TUESDAY, 2 SEPTEMBER AT NOON! The meeting will be held in Academic Hall on the Mount Aloysius campus (https://www.mtaloy.edu/), 7373 Admiral Peary Highway, Cresson, Pennsylvania 16630. Parking is free on the premises.

Registration for the meeting will open on the PGS website (https://thepgs.org/Annual_Meeting) on Tuesday, 2 September. All registrants receive lunch as part of the registration fee. Participants who register by 24 October 2025 will receive a discount.

Presentations are limited to 15 minutes with five minutes for questions. Abstracts (for papers and posters) are limited to 200 words and should be submitted during registration. Posters will be on display all day during the meeting. Please visit the PGS website for poster size restrictions. Posters must be mounted in such a way that they may be displayed on an easel, which the PGS will provide. Abstract submissions for posters and papers will not be accepted after 24 October 2025.

This year’s Distinguished Geographer and Guest Speaker is Brandi Robinson, from the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering, Penn State University, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.

Suggestions for workshops, paper sessions, and thematic discussion panels are welcome. Please contact JT Bandzuh (jbandzuh@gmail.com), Dan Harris (DWHARRIS@salisbury.edu) or Frank Galgano (francis.galgano@villanova.edu) if you are interested in running a workshop or special session.

ALL STUDENTS WHO PRESENT A PAPER OR POSTER AT THE MEETING WILL HAVE THEIR REGISTRATION FEES REIMBURSED FOLLOWING THE MEETING

Students are encouraged to enter the student paper contest, or the Elaine F. Bosowski poster/map contest. Cash awards are presented to the best graduate and undergraduate student papers and posters. All graduate or undergraduate student registrants are eligible. Separate competitions will be held for undergraduate and graduate submissions and awards are presented at each level. Students may enter the paper or poster/map contest simply by checking the appropriate box on the registration form.
